Lonavala charms tourists with its natural beauty

A fascinating hill station in Pune district of Maharashtra, Lonavala is an ideal location to escape the bustling crowds of cities. Over the years, it has become a favourite spot of weekend travellers from Pune and Mumbai. A hardened candy called 'Chikki' is unique to this region, and is savoured by every tourist visiting Lonavala. This hill station was discovered by the Governor of Bombay Presidency during the late nineteenth century, Lord Elphistone.
Climate of Lonavala remains pleasant throughout the year, except for May, when the daytime temperatures may rise to a level of 41-Degree Celsius. The hill station gets moderate rainfall from June to September. The entire region gets a green cover and comes alive with waterfalls around this time of the year. Winters in Lonavala are extremely pleasant with temperatures rarely rising beyond 36-Degree Celsius during daytime. Summer can be unpleasantly hot, and this is the reason why tourists usually avoid visiting Lonavala during this season.

People touring the hill station can explore some truly interesting places like Bushi Dam, Lohagad Fort, Karla and Bhaja Caves, and Valvan Dam. The best resortsin Lonavala not only provide comfortable stays to the tourists, but also make it convenient for them to visit all the famous attractions.
